It is questionable, if we should use the label "occipital foramen" only for the foramen separated from the oral foramen by the the subforaminal bridge or the dorsal "part" of the foramen composed of the "fused oral and occipital foramina. The present definition need to e more accurate, since it is also applicable for the foramen composed of the oral and the occipital foramina.
