Is it possible to use the site of origin of the dilator muscle of the propodeal muscle to find something out about the first abdominal sternum in Hymenoptera and other Holomateabola? The dilator muscles of the abdominal spiracles originates from the sternal apodeme of the sternum of an abdominal segment. In some non-apocritan Hymenoptera the dilator muscle seemed to be originated either from the conjunctiva surrounding the proximal part of the coxa or from the coxa itself.
